Introduction

Several behaviors on the ways of life have key effects on individual’s life. Feeding on unhealthy diet, smoking and living an inactive lifestyle are associated with many types of diseases. A person’s character is predisposed in parts; his attitude and knowledge towards the action under study. Therefore, the importance of having the knowledge on health and diet on the people is noted. Analysis of health and diet is an important factor from the point of view of public nutritional policy and a citizen’s health. Government programs, for example, National School Lunch Program (NSLP) objective is to attain an adequate nutritional diet suitable for both the rich and the poor population. Characteristically, diet and health depends on the calorie-to-nutrient density ratios.

  Labeling of products

Analysis on health and diet is vital to consumer provide a solution to the confusion that they normally have towards certain advertized food products. For instance, a sportsman may be lured into buying a product that has been labeled with a range of disease reduction say such as it builds stronger bones, strengthening the bone structure and reduces the chances of getting osteoporosis. The relation between human bones and calcium is a common and undoubted claim. Therefore, consumers will not see the need to check on the components included in the food. Analyzing of a diet before consumption is important to protect ones health, since most producers may give a false labeling on their products. Evaluation of nutrient and energy intake is enhanced. The assessment on the intake of nutrients from the consumable goods needs trustworthy data on the composition of food. The obtained data are the basics of the dietary guidelines on food for a healthy nutrition, having the essential details on the sources of food for various nutrients. Analysis on the food composition informs consumers about the chemical composition and nutrient forms, availability and quantity of the relating components, hence, providing reports about the bioavailability. For instance, vitamin E, vitamin A and niacin have their equivalences introduced to meet the differences in biological activity and availability of the different forms of chemical.

Non-nutritive food constituents

Food components having non-nutritive components: Even though many composition of food table focuses on micronutrient, macronutrients and energy, the attention on non-nutritive constituents is rising. Taking into account the useful effects of the biologically energetic plant cell compounds for instance, carotenoids and polyphenols that are preferred for leisure purposes needs more research to certain its positive benefits on the human.

Promoting healthy life through physical activities

The safeguarding and promoting healthy life is attained through combination of different mental, physical and social welfare commonly known as health triangle. In Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion states further; healthiness is not only a state but also, a source for daily life and not the objective for living. Health as a positive perception emphasizes on physical capacities, personal and social resources. Citizens can enhance the health by exercising, having adequate sleep and having a recommended body weight, reducing the amount of alcohol consumption and smoking. Self management and adaptability are major constituents of a human health.

Physical, sporting activities and public health

Disease prevention and promotion of a healthy life are majorly enhanced by engaging in various physical and sport activities. Diseases such as obesity, overweight and cardio-vascular are reduced or prevented to some level. The occurrences of obesity and overweight and the lack of exercise have grown to be a greater problem in the society. It puts people at risk as well as increasing the economic burden due to the effects on the health budgets, reduced productivity because of the low fitness in the labor market. Thus, recognizing the importance of sport movement in nurturing health to enhance physical activities has to be developed, since, it has more outreach to both the high and low income earners compared to other social association. Sport is viewed as an enticing activity by most people as it has a positive image in enhancing a healthy living. Lack of enough physical activity amongst children is the major cause of overweight and not intake of more food rich in higher calories. Concurs that the connection between health, diet and sport goes beyond the battle against obesity and overweight. Physical activities provides an appropriate elimination of non-communicable hazards on health which include; risks created by tobacco, alcohol, cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. Sports enhance the psychological fitness and well-being of a person as long as proper education and awareness is created to avoid any negative effects of sports on health such as the sport related injuries.

Healthy diet and leisure

With the increasing technology in the society, healthy living has been ignored by most people. Most individuals feed on the junk foods such as chips, pizza and burger that have higher levels of calories and fats. These types of food are normally taken without conducting any physical activity to burn the fats. Currently, the lifestyle behavior is more of indoor activities, such as, computer games, internet and watching television. Also more use of the cars than walking or bicycle riding. The rich society is mostly affected due to their pure lifestyle behavior. They depend more on junk food and drinks, are involved in less physical activities and more in sedentary activities.

  Conclusion

Physical activities enhancing healthy living should be promoted in all sectors, such as transport, education, family, youth and urban planning. As well as improving the employee’s health and performance to reduce absenteeism. Sport is a determinant in the growth of the society reflected on the work force available. Healthy leisure practices should be encouraged such as bicycle riding, racing competition to enhance a healthy living. Awareness and understanding on the food components is important for the evaluation of diet and nutrient quality through observation of the dietary regulations to provide an essential tool in the public health nutrition fields.

Last week we decided, Mohamed, Ahmed and Fahad, as a group to make a case study about Yas Marina Circuit. First, we sent an email to the customer service there and we asked them if we could interview someone who can tell us sufficient information about the circuit. Also we asked them if we could make a small video about the circuit but, unfortunately they informed us that video capture is not allowed there. After that we decided that our case study would be as a report so, last Monday we visited the Yas Marina Circuit and we took a tour around it. First, before unveiling its location and its distance from Abu Dhabi it is better to understand what it is and what it provides. It follows that Yas Marina circuit is unlike any other formula one circuits. It is a 5.55 kilometers track, made up of almost 21 corners. The corners are made in such a way that they twist their way beneath the iconic Yas Viceroy hotel and then it enters the Abu Dhabi Dunes. It is pertinent to note that it provides driving packages and tuition all located at the Yas Drag Racing centre, Yas School as well as the Yas Kartzone. To start with, it makes sense to note that Yas Marina Circuit is the literal venue for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It is also pertinent to understand that Hermann Tilke was the core designer of the circuit. He actually thought it wise to store or rather design it on the Yas Island. According to researchers, they articulated that this is a thirty minutes drive from the UAE capital Abu Dhabi. As much as it is beautifully made and that it attracts many people who like driving or tracking, it is ranked the second in the Middle East. The circuit that is ranked first is located in Bahrain. Before opening the circuit officially, the track experienced a two-day GP2 Asia Series test. Having said that, it is equally important to note that, this test actually was held almost a week before the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Apart from the above, the circuit also hosted the Australian opening event for V8 Supercars series, exclusively named as the Yas V8 400, in the February of the year 2010. With the above in mind, it is evident to note that this circuit was among the most admirable one, because before even it could start offering its anticipated services, other events borrowed their way on it. To run through a whole phenomenon of the Yas Marina Circuit, it is noted that the twenty-one corners are made to literally twist through the Island of Yas, off the coast of Abu Dhabi. It passes near the Marina and then through the Yas Viceroy Abu. This circuit was logically designed and then conceived by the New York based architects by the name Hani Rashid.

Now, having understood where the Yas Marina circuit is, some may wonder about the kind of facilities that are found in the circuit that make it outstanding, or to be ranked the second after the Bahrain one. Here are some of the facilities that are found in the circuit. First, it is important to know that the circuit has five grand areas namely the North, Main and the South as well as the Marina grandstand. It also has a pit lane, and part of it runs underneath the track. If that is not enough, it also houses a team building, located behind the pit building. It has a media centre, VIP Tower, Dragster tracks and lastly the Ferrari world theme park. All the above named features are the facilities of the Yas Marina circuit, which has so far attracted thousands. Considering its seating, you can be amazed to realize that it has a seating capacity of 41, 093. It was built on a spacious land and so it bears an area of almost 161.9 ha, and 5.5 kilometers length. The main contactor, who was lucky enough to receive this tender, was the Cerbarco-WCT WLL. They got this tender under contract from the developer Aldar Properties. Apart from the above main contractors, there are several sub contractors, seven that actually gave their skills in the participation of the whole construction process. Another noted facility in the circuit is the lighting system. According to eyewitnesses, the circuit is constructed with a lighting system, which the Musco lighting provided. This circuit is the largest sports venue that has a permanent lighting system in the world. However, previously this title was held by the Losail circuit, but fortunately due to its sparkling nature and how it is perfectly lit, it acquires the title of being the best-lit circuit in the world. According to research, these are some of the equipment that those who built the Yas Marina circuit saw necessary for it to have. The truth of the matter is that, only the equipments themselves can make one feel very comfortabe, before the actually racing starts.

For instance, the lighting system is very attractive for people to admire; the twenty –one corners bring about an amazing scenario for people to see. Apart from the above, its track surface is made of Graywacke aggregate to bring out the strategy leveling of the surface for the benefit of the racers. The surface offers a high level of grip to the formula one driver and receives a high degree of acclamation. This is what attracts a lot of drivers to the place for competition or just for recreation. Generally, this track is made in such a way that the outlook itself is of high quality, and so it attracts people in one way or another. That is why many people find it easy to make their way into the circuit to catch up with an event. In summary, the circuit is built at a distance of almost thirty minutes drive from  Abu Dhabi, and it was designed by Harman Tilke . It is the second formula one track in the Middle East  according to tabulation. Its design is a twenty-one corner structure twisting through the Yas Island off the coast of Abu Dhabi. It was conceived and also designed by a U.S based architect, by the name of Rashid assisted by Asymptote Architecture by the name of Lisa Anne.

Florence Griffith

The person of the month is a famous American athlete, Florence Griffith-Joyner who was known as Flo-Jo. Her best event is that she is the fastest woman on earth and still holds the world record for both the 100 and 200 meters set in 1988. Unluckily, epilepsy stopped her career at the age of 38. As for awards Flo-Jo won a gold medal in the 100 m final and a silver medal in the 200 m quarter final in 1988 Summer Olympics. In addition to athletics, Flo-Jo was engaged in designing the basketball uniforms for the Indiana Pacers in 1989. She was accused of using performance-enhancing drugs like steroid but autopsy records showed that she died because of epilepsy at the age of 38. Flo-Jo suddenly retired at the age of 29 for acting, writing, fashion and designing. In 1990, she gave birth to a daughter. Finally, I should say that Griffith is my favorite female sports person.
